Prof. Dr. med. Vorpahl joins Prof. Dr. med. René Andrié, also Head of Cardiology, Rhythmology and Electrophysiology, and Prof. Dr. med. "My aim is to use current and new developments in cardiology with the highest medical quality. As an interventional cardiologist, I offer gentle examinations and treatment procedures on the heart using various catheters. A particular focus is on the treatment of heart valve diseases. This is an important 'building block' for our 'heart team' in Siegburg. I am very much looking forward to working with my colleagues here," says Prof. Vorpahl about his start in Siegburg.

The new head physician is a specialist in internal medicine and cardiology with additional qualifications in emergency medicine and internal intensive care medicine. Prof. Mark Vorpahl holds a professorship for structural heart disease at the University of Witten-Herdecke. This was followed by clinical training at the Munich Heart Center, Klinikum rechts der Isar and Düsseldorf University Hospital. He also worked for two years as a fellow in the development of innovative interventional therapy procedures at the CVPath Institute in Maryland, USA. In his free time, the father of two is passionate about the work of early Dutch painters and garden design, and enjoys cycling with his wife.
