General Info

With 89 beds (including 24 ICU and 16 IMC beds), the Helios Heart Surgery is one of the largest dedicated cardiac surgery facilities in southern Germany. Its surgeons and anesthesiologists provide the highest level of cardiac care. The surgical wing consists of five operating rooms including one hybrid operating room.

The clinic is very well established in southern Germany and has an outstanding range of equipment at its disposal. We offer the full range of cardiac procedures for adults with the exception of transplant surgery, performing approximately 2,500 operations each year.

Region

Karlsruhe is the second largest city in the state of Baden-Württemberg. It is located on the right bank of the river Rhine in the trinational metropolitan region of the Upper Rhine. As well as being bordered by the Rhine to the west, it also abuts the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Karlsruhe has been the seat of Germany’s Federal Court of Justice since 1950 and its Federal Constitutional Court since 1951. As a result, the city is sometimes referred to as the «home of justice». Despite also being home to large infrastructural installations such as two Rhine ports and Germany’s second largest refinery, Karlsruhe’s economy is mostly made up of medium-sized enterprises.
