General Info
Park Clinic belongs to the famous university of Leipzig. Studies are constantly being conducted at the clinic which allows using of latest medical achievements in the patients treatment : at the moment, only in the area of visceral oncology, 24 clinical trials are being conducted here. Constant contact with the community of the Leipzig University and the teaching activity of medical practitioners provide a scientific approach to each case. In 2018 the clinic received more than 17, 000 inpatients and another 25, 000 outpatients in total. 190 doctors and 380 caregivers, 39 psychologists and 29 ergotherapists monitor patients state.
Medical Care
The Somatic Treatment Centres comprise the Orthopaedic and Trauma Centre, the Centre for Vascular Medicine specialising in angiology and vascular surgery as well as the Abdominal and Thoracic Centre specialising in gastroenterology, pneumology as well as general and visceral surgery. The range of somatic treatment services is complemented by the Department of Acute Geriatric Medicine and Early Rehabilitation, the certified Bowel and Pancreas Centre as well as the Multimodal Pain Management Centre for the treatment of chronic pain syndromes. In addition, Helios Park Hospital Leipzig is a member of the certified Trauma Network of Western Saxony for the treatment of severely injured patients.

Region
The Desen hospital was founded in the suburbs of Leipzig in 1901, which laid to the foundation of the modern Park-Clinic. Initially, the main speciality of the hospital was mental health, however, over the course of the century, the specialization of the clinic gradually expanded: after the war, departments for internal medicine and surgery have been established here, then the departments for orthopedics and oncology. In 2012, the Addiction Treatment Center joined the Park Clinic and it joined the Helios concern in 2014. Nowadays, the Park Clinic is part of a modern medical complex, which also includes the Leipzig Cardiology Center. The Center is surrounded a quiet green area with parks and lakes and it is situated in 10 minutes from the historical center of Leipzig and in a half an hour drive from Halle Airport of Leipzig, to where you can get by direct flight from Moscow in only 3 hours.
