General Info
The Helios Hospital Duisburg is a tertiary care hospital and Academic Teaching Hospital of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. The hospital comprises of two locations: Helios St. Johannes Hospital in Hamborn and Helios Marien Hospital in Hochfeld.
We offer a free shuttle service from DUS airport to our clinic, which is approx. 20 minutes away.
With 24 specialist departments, 1,000+ beds and about 1,600 employees, we offer people living in and around Duisburg comprehensive medical, therapeutic and nursing care. At the St. Johannes and Marien locations, two new state-of-the-art hospital buildings have just been erected, which offer our patients the highest level of comfort and quality care and create a useful link between the medical departments for interdisciplinary exchange.

The bus stop «St. Johannes Hospital» is located directly in front of Helios St. Johannes Hospital, from where the bus lines 908 and 910 depart.
Helios Marien Hospital is only a ten-minute walk away from Duisburg Main Station. In addition, the tram stop «Marien Hospital», which can be reached from the Main Station using line 903 in the direction of «Duisburg Mannesmann Tor 2», is also located next to the hospital.
The international Düsseldorf Airport is only 30 km away from Duisburg.
FFIf necessary, we can also offer our patients and accompanying persons accommodation in apartments near the hospital, for example, GLÜCK AUF Appartements on the Lösorterstraße.
Region
With nearly 500,000 inhabitants, Duisburg is the westernmost big city of the Ruhr. In the course of the industrialisation, Duisburg saw numerous smelting works, coal mines as well as steel and chemical works come into being. Even today, steel is produced in the north of the city in the world's largest blast furnace. Owing to the favourable traffic connections directly where the river Ruhr flows into the Rhine, the ports of the city have been expanded over the course of time to become the world's largest inland port. Duisburg's cityscape is characterised by industrial culture, but also offers a great number of local recreation areas, such as the Six-Lakes Plain in the south of the city. The Duisburg North Landscape Park with a shut-down smelting works and extensive green spaces is also situated in close proximity to Helios St. Johannes Hospital.
