With the certification as a maximum care spine center, patients at the Helios Hospital Krefeld have the certainty that the strict requirements of the German Spine Society (DWG) are met here - for the highest level of safety and conservative as well as surgical treatment quality. Throughout Germany, the clinic is currently one of the 30 spine centers of the highest care level - it is the only one in the Lower Rhine region and in the greater Düsseldorf area.

It is the result of great efforts by all those involved to establish a spine center of the highest level of care here in the Lower Rhine region for the people of the region," explains Prof. Dr. med. Clayton Kraft, Chief Physician of Orthopedics, Trauma and Hand Surgery, who heads the spine center together with his colleague, Prof. Dr. med. Michael Stoffel.

Designated spine specialists

The two chief physicians in Krefeld are proven specialists in spine surgery: Prof. Stoffel holds the additional qualification 'Spinal Neurosurgery' of the German Society of Neurosurgery (DGNC) as well as the basic, master and excellence certificate of the German Spine Society (DWG). Prof. Kraft holds the additional designations 'Special Orthopedic Surgery' and 'Special Trauma Surgery' as well as the Basic and Master Certificate of the German Spine Society (DWG). He is a member of the International Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (ISMISS). With their optimally complementary treatment focuses, they - together with their neurosurgical and orthopedic teams, radiology, neurology as well as pain and physiotherapy - ensure individual care that is precisely tailored to the patient.
